Auditions
The Flower Shop Project will be holding auditions for a project that will include theatre, music and dance directed by Brenna Jones and choreographed by Bryan Gerber. The project will draw its inspiration from Project 515’s outline of the inequities in all areas of Minnesota law that discriminate against same sex couples and their families. We’ll be using music, drama and humor to bring Project 515’s message to a wide audience and to change the state of the dialogue around the subject. For more information about Project 515, visit www.project515.org.
Workshops, staged readings and excerpt performances will be held occasionally during the summer, in particular at the Twin Cities Pride Festival June 26 to 27. Final performances will be held at the Patrick’s Cabaret from September 30 to October 3 and October 7 to 10. Rehearsals will be held at Epworth Methodist Church in South Minneapolis beginning at the end of August.
We are looking for an ensemble cast of eight for various roles, ages 18 to 80. All roles are Non-AEA, with a $100 stipend.
Auditioners must prepare one sixty to ninety-second contemporary monologue and one sixty to ninety-second a cappella song. The audition will also include some movement/dance. Cold readings from the script may also be required. Please provide a resume and headshot.
Auditions will be held from 7:00 to 10:00 pm on Monday, February 15 and Tuesday, February 16. If necessary, callbacks will be held in the evening on Wednesday, February 17. Auditions will be held at Epworth Methodist at 3207 37th Ave S in Minneapolis.
