The Flower Shop Project will be holding auditions for River of Passion by Bethany Hummel, Brenna Jones and Stephen Moeller and directed by Gretchen Weinrich.  River of Passion will explore the world of daytime drama following the soapy adventures (in the bedroom and the board room!) of two rival Twin Cities families.  The innovative show will offer a new episode every night, in true serial fashion.  Though the show will be different every night, the large cast and repeating “previously on…” style of dialogue should not require more rehearsal or memorization than a typical 90 minute show for any one particular actor.  Additionally, not every character will be featured in every episode, so actors won’t need to be available for every performance.  For more information of the show or The Flower Shop Project, please feel free to email or call – we’d love to give you more details about this experimental piece!

Rehearsals will be weeknight evenings beginning May 24.  Some Saturday morning/early afternoon rehearsals will also be held as needed, as well as one pick-up rehearsal per week in July for each episode.  Rehearsals will be held at Epworth Methodist Church in South Minneapolis.  Performances will be Fridays July 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 at the Bryant-Lake Bowl.

We are looking for at least 7 women and 7 men, ages 18 and up.  All roles are Non-AEA with a $100 stipend.

We’re also looking for “day players” for the following unpaid character cameos, including but not limited to: Chief of Police, Crime Scene Investigator, one or two cops, priest, Districty Attorney, two sets of scantily clad tramps, and a barista/coffee house manager.  Day players will be compensated with a BLB drink ticket and our undying affection.

Auditions will be held from 7:00 to 10:00 pm on Monday, April 12 and Tuesday, April 13.  If necessary, callbacks will be held on Wednesday, April 14.  Auditions will be held at Epworth Methodist at 3207 37th Ave S in Minneapolis.  Auditioners must prepare one sixty-second contemporary monologue – feel free to bring the soap opera melodrama!  Cold readings from the script will also be required.  Please provide a resume and headshot.
