The Flower Shop Project is looking for an assistant stage manager and a props designer for River of Passion: The Saga Continues written by Bethany Hummel and Brenna Jones and directed by Gretchen Weinrich. River of Passion: The Saga Continues brings the melodrama of soap opera to the stage. The show will follow the continuing adventures of two rival Twin Cities families that began in 2010 with the original five episodes of River of Passion. The innovative piece will offer four new episodes in true serial fashion.
Rehearsals will be weeknight evenings beginning February 28. Production meetings will be once a week, either proceeding or following a rehearsal. Rehearsals and production meetings will be held at Epworth Methodist Church in South Minneapolis, performances will be Saturdays April 2, 9, 16 and 23 at the Bryant-Lake Bowl.
We’ll be emphasizing creativity, innovation and collaboration from our ASM and props designer.
ASM duties include attending final two weeks of rehearsal and any productions meetings during that time, managing all backstage activities including costume and scene changes (with the help of the stage manager). A stipend of $100 is offered.
Props design duties include designing and building or obtaining all props pieces for production, providing production staff with detailed prop plot, helping to obtain rehearsal props as needed, attending all production meetings, managing props design budget. Prop master will have access to FSP’s prop stock as needed and appropriate. A stipend of $100 is offered.
