Coming in October, FSP is teaming with performing artist Bryan Gerber to produce 515, our dynamic collaboration of theater artists to illuminate the inequities faced by same sex couples and their families. Inspired by the mission and research of Project 515, the final show of FSP’s 2010 season celebrates a vision of a world of equality where all Minnesotans are equally valued and respected under the law. The show opens September 30 – information about dates, times, location and tickets sales is all on our 515 show page!
In the meantime, we presented an excerpt from the show at September’s Sample Night Live on September 1st! The cast performed an ensemble dance/scene to big laughs and applause!
Local writers Matthew Everett and Sarah Howes and songwriters Eric Mayson and SvenErik Olsen are putting the final touches on text and music drawn from the five-hundred-fifteen Minnesota statutes that discriminate against same-sex couples and their families. Rehearsals begin this month and the show opens September 30 at Patrick’s Cabaret. 515 will be a full-length evening of theatre, music and dance directed by Brenna Jones and choreographed by Bryan Gerber. The talented ensemble of actors, dancers and singers includes Shannon Troy Jones, Jennifer Kudelka, Claire Lloyd, Adam B. Moore, Kecia Rehkamp, Paul Rutledge, Sarah Wojciechowski-Prill and John T. Zeiler.
The Flower Shop Project’s 2010 season is funded, in part, by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund as appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008.
